Research Facilities

Our research and biomedical training facility sits on 300 acres, in a secure country setting 45 minutes from Baltimore Washington International Airport, and only 12 minutes from accommodations in Hunt Valley, Maryland.  The research and training complex is available 7 days a week, 365 days a year.  Our site boasts 3 fully equipped operating rooms with adjoining animal prep and recovery areas, as well as necropsy rooms.  Office space and resources are available for use on-site to maximize your productivity.

Animal Facilities

At one end of the surgical building is the intermediate post-operative care and housing unit which is capable of comfortably housing large numbers of animals during the surgical recovery period. The housing and care facilities at TDMI are designed to the highest standards for humane treatment and hygienic conditions. Since 1998, TDMI has been a fully accredited AAALAC-I research and production facility. We are a USDA registered research facility, A USDA licensed vendor and hold an Animal Welfare Assurance ID # issued by the Office of Laboratory Animal Welfare division of the Public Health Service.

Equipment

All equipment is calibrated and maintained under TDMI standard operating procedures in accordance with GLP standards. TDMI radiography equipment includes the OEC 9600 C-arm with a vascular package and a Phillips Pulsera with a vascular and cardiac package. This fluoroscopic equipment enables us to perform a wide variety of surgical and imaging procedures from cardiovascular to orthopedic. We have an Ultrasound Unit with Cardiac Capability, Mobile 1.5 Telsa MRI, and CT Scan. Endoscopic and video equipment are also available. A tissue culture lab is also available for client use. The highlights include: Refrigerators and freezers (-20C and -870C) are calibrated, maintained, and monitored to meet GLP standards for tissue and test article storage. Locked space is also provided to meet any other storage requirements needed.
